Wanted: Ferm Glitter in Our Land of Dust

These are my two walls surrounding our entryway into our kitchen. This is our un-installed toilet. Please excuse the mess. I say this a lot to our guests. You see, my boyfriend and I are gut rehabbing an 1840s Bucktown, Chicago four-flat. And we're living in our construction! I would love to be able show off Ferm-covered wallpaper on these two half-walls. This would make this area of our home our first finished piece - and a great first step in a design direction we can be proud of. And I promise we'll move the toilet by the time you arrive. We'll even offer a tour into the world of gut rehab living (proper shoes and an open mind required). Dimensions of walls posted under each photo. Dining Room Dilemma

Remember that scene in "Breakfast at Tiffany's when Paul meets Holly Golightly for the first time? He says to her "You just moved in too, huh?" and she flatly replies "No, I've been here about a year". Well, that's how I feel about our dining room which is currrently a vapid blend of vanilla walls and no real design focus. It has a very cool architectual element in the sloping, talls ceilings but we just haven't done anything in the room yet. My vision would be to bring some natural elements with greens, blues and the warmth of the wood floors and our antique dinign table. Then I would like to tie in some modern, glamorous tidbits with the addition of the white laquered chairs from West Elm and other such accesories. I love the Wild Flower Ferm wallpaper in green because it's a great color and the design is so fresh and clearly of-the-moment without being something that will look dated in a year. My wall is 137 inches accross (348 cm) and 91 inches (231 cm) tall on the left and 123 inches (312.5 cm) on the right. Please help me transform this room into the beautiful space I know it could be!

ferm Contest: Blah Living Room Wall

Wall Height: 8 ft.
Wall Width: 18.5 ft.

My living room walls are all white. As you can see from the pic, there are no wall hangings on that side of the room since the wall width is a little awkward. The wall width spans the entire length of my living room and the tv cabinet is lightly off to the right because of the placement of my sofa (the other side of the room has a half wall where the sofa is).

I believe that ferm wallpapers will give my wall the extra oopmh it needs. This extra oomph will certainly help with the look and feel of the entire room. For the wallpaper, I picked Clematis from Collection No. 1 as the subtle green tint matches my green and teal accessories.

This is an "uncensored photo" of my kitchen wall (15' x 8') that I'd love to have redone with the Turquoise/Gold Ribbed Ferm wallpaper. I use the term "uncensored photo" just as a disclaimer for the mess, since my home is quite cluttered and in need of much repair. I feel like my kitchen is very outdated, and the stains, dents, and tears on the walls as it is now are quite unattractive and could benefit much from the selected simple, subtle, yet also bright print that I selected. I am trying to do a very limited kitchen renovation (limited because of the current budget I have, or rather, lack) to try and increase the value of my home, and I hope that I might have some luck through this contest with winning some beautiful wallpaper to make my kitchen an up-do-date masterpiece! Fingers crossed!

Blah bathroom blues

When I bought my house, every wall (including the bathroom) had been painted with 1 coat of a cheap ivory paint: perfect to sell the house, not so good to live in. In addition to just looking boring, the paint also chips and stains easily. Lately I've been digging more graphic and vivid patterns and colors, so picked my bathroom to be my first guinea pig for this. The Cherry Tree wallpaper by ferm matches what I've had in mind, and will also coordinate well with the remainder of the walls being painted in a cheerful, vivid hue. As you can tell from the picture, the bathroom is long and relatively narrow (and the wall itself is 9' x 8'), so while there is a lot of wall real estate, there isn't much room for something like furniture to give the room character.

my boring bedroom

I just painted my bedroom a very subtle oatmeal color and cleared away most of the clutter that was making the room hard to sleep in. I painted all my furniture white to match because I don't have much in the way of decorating funds so most of my furniture is hand me down or from a thrift store. But now I can't think of anything to put on my walls! My bed faces this wall so every day I wake up to look at nothing. I don't just want to slap up anything I can find. I want it to look nice. Alas there is no room in the budget to get anything framed. I thought wallpaper would be perfect plus the fern wallpaper is so soothing. I think the nature theme. My wall is 8' x 12' and I think Wilderness (White/Gold) Wallpaper would look great with the paint color but still be soothing.

Wall

We are in the last phase of building an organic add-on to our house. We DIY'd most of the structure ourselves, which took us about 2,5 years. Nearly finished now, there's just this one wall which we still aren't really satisfied with. This wall needs something which sort of like "finishes" the space. I stumbled upon a blog post about this contest, so i thought to give it a try. I photoshopped a few of the patterns to see if they'd work on the wall. Most of the patterns didn't work (how much i loved the patterns themselves, in the context they just didn't seem to work). But then we tried this one, and it really fits the wall very well... The picture has a before and after montage...

my sad wall

after a year of printing surrounded by bare studs & plywood, I finally finished insulating and sheetrocking my studio (just in time for a long minnesota winter). now, thanks to a few great helpers, the space is a little more hopeful and a little closer to the lovely studio I've imagined, but still needs lots of help. my letterpresses & I would be so, so thrilled to gaze at *silver forest flowers* while we work! :: wall is 96" high & 20' long ::

This wall needs help!

This is a very empty wall, and could really use some ferm wallpaper to liven it up! We have had a case of the "spread-to-thins" and haven't gotten around to decorating the most important room in the house! Our bedroom! Please help us make it pretty. The wall is 13 wide by 8 high.
